Interview with Visionary Artist Mark of mpm7.com - 42:49
This interview was done over skype in 2008. The audio quality is kind of poor as I had only a fairly cheap headphone mic and Mark was speaking into an earbud headphone if I recall correctly. Yay for amateur recording! haha - anyways I think anybody interested in visionary art, entheogen inspired art, salvia divinorum and such will enjoy listening. I’m hoping to do more of this kind of interview before long.
Mark’s art can be viewed at mpm7.com as well as his myspace page and on deviantART

This one meditation experience in particular stands out from all other mystical & mundane experiences in my life.
I was completely sober and calm and laying down for a rest on my palette, a large futon mattress, and spontaniously began vocally toning. I hadn’t planned it or thought of such a thing at all. Up and down the register of my voice - up and down the entire register smoothing the wrinkles and attending to the ‘errors’… continuing for 30 minutes up and down the register from as high as I could go to as low as I could go aiming for maximal smoothness and range and always stopping to redo problem frequencies by backing up a bit and moving through the frequencies again and again until it was smooth.
I did this not stop for 30 minutes. I was completely into it before long and was incredibly aware of the vibrations & frequencies of my voice and their many qualities & facets. I became incredibly aware of my breathing patterns & depth and adapted my breathing to best assist the toning, taking deep breaths from the diaphragm and toning as I exhaled without restraint at a full natural volume. Eventually the breathing became rhythmic & effortless; synced with the beat of my ascending & descending vocal exercise.
When, after half an hour, I sat up; I felt a radiant column of energy from what would be near my 1st chakra (perineum?) up to my heart chakra area - I didn’t feel it any higher than that, but I felt that for a good 45 minutes. The rest of my body felt kind of numb. There was no pain or discomfort at all. I was mentally clear as a bell with not a hint of downside to anything. I was completely at peace and in the moment.
I walked around the house, sat on the stairs for a while listening to my roommates, gazed at stuff, listened to things feeling this column of radiance emanating from a pillar within me.
I recall noticing that ‘I COULDN’T NOT have perfect posture’ in this state. My back couldn’t be straighter.
I felt the energy warm me and radiating from another dimension within me or… that contains me… and felt totally blissed out in mind and body for 45 minutes.
That 30 minutes of spontaneous vocal toning meditation I regard as one of the best investments I’ve ever made.
May you too be blessed with such rewarding surprises.

This is only here to hold open the category which would disappear otherwise.
You know that poem… that you’d post here… I mean, if you were actually going to share it here it’s the one you’d post…
Yeah that one!
Please register and share it, or just send it by commenting here... then I’ll post it so I can delete this silly bit

“I had heard that Syrian Rue seeds could be psychoactive on their own, without adding a DMT source and though the plant sources for a full ayahuasca analogue are present, I’ve decided to first meet Rue on its own.
I ground a lot of seed and weighed out 4 grams which I cold water extracted for about 24 hours. Having followed an appropriate MAOI diet and prepared mentally… I reduced and drank what amounted to a quarter cup of fairly bad tasting harmala soup.
About an hour later I started to become fairly drunk feeling in an odd way, it’s like my mind was alert and sober, but my body was drunk and starting to get major tracers too, which altogether made it impossible to walk without looking like I was on the deck of a ship in a very wavey sea. This was ok since pretty soon I felt I had to just lay down on the couch and close my eyes and enjoy the experience of this altered reality. I felt I was going to be sick.. but that feeling vanished only when I lay on my back with my eyes closed, so that’s what I did for what may have been a couple hours.
When I broke out of the trance I got up to go to bed. This was about 3 hours into it. My mind was clear as a bell, but I could hardly walk or see. The tracers were emanating from everything in multiple layers and stayed for a long time. It wasn’t unpleasant at all… then I felt sick again so just went to lay on my back in my bed… That’s really about it. I awoke 4 hours later and with the lights on I noticed the tracers and lightly psychedelic state of mind were still with me, but I could walk and see now!
So yeah, Rue is definitely active and can bring an interesting somewhat psychedelic drunkenness that doesn’t keep you awake if you don’t want to be. Careful of the dosage though, I would not want to use more than the 4 grams I did due to the nautia and inability to see or walk for quite some time.
